The Beginning of a Dream

Hello! For those that do not know me... I’m Jenna, co-founder of Mindful Journey NY.

I’ve been in Early Childhood Education for over 17 years. The last 8 years I have had the privilege to be a Preschool Director... I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. I hold a master’s degree in Education and continue to learn, develop and grow as an educator.

I have 2 incredible children, a 12-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. They light up my life and have awaken me as a person in ways I never thought I

would ever experience.

I love being a voice of inspiration & supporting children...

-enhancing their classroom environment

-inspiring a child’s sense of wonder

-communicating with complete respect.

-providing a clean and safe space

To be completely honest, I left the classroom to earn a living.

When I stepped into administration, I was a single-mom and could not support my family on a preschool teacher’s salary. I loved being a curriculum coordinator, (supporting classrooms directly) but it took me a little while to take on the director role.

I found myself using my time in the classroom as an oasis away from the administrative work of being a director.

For about 15 years I have had a dream to create my own program for young children. What started as an idea for children’s parties has evolved into creating a

program rooted in honoring the child where they are and inspiring them to find their love for learning.

Watching my own children grow, as well as children in my programs, I developed an interest in social and emotional education. I longed to create a program that can begin in Early Childhood, taking a proactive approach to social and emotional learning, making it an essential curriculum component.
